DYNAMOVE

Dynamove – Reintroduce yourself to fitness is a lifestyle app that truly cares about its users and their fitness. It offers a fresh approach to health for people who want to start getting fit, those who have tried before but lost interest, and even fitness buffs who have lost their motivation. It starts by asking users to identity their wants, or their goals. Using this input, the app recommends cultural art forms from around the world that align with users' goals and connects them with peers who share similar interests. Users become part of a supportive community that encourages exploration and shared reflection. The platform helps individuals stay on track by fostering a deeper understanding of the why and how behind their fitness journey. The user remains at the center of the design.

How might we reframe physical fitness to be more engaging and motivating, while highlighting its role in holistic wellness?

Global Design Challenge Website

Research: To design a solution that boosts participation in sport and physical activity, we began by building a deep understanding of fitness and health. This included reviewing ethnographic research and conducting one-on-one interviews with individuals across the fitness spectrum.

Our research surfaced key myths and perceptions about exercise, as well as a widespread neglect of mental and emotional fitness — which emerged as a critical focus area.

We synthesized insights using tools like affinity mapping, empathy mapping, as-is scenario mapping, and a value proposition matrix. The insights pointed to an app as the ideal solution.

We then conducted competitor analysis and engaged stakeholders from both the service provider and user sides to refine our approach.

Design: The app was designed according to key design principles: smart and personalized service, a simple user interface with intuitive navigation, platform agnosticism, a unified and efficient system, and ongoing collaboration to support continuous improvement.
